AintThatABeach- great point, that is why i wanted this thread made, i need a reality check to see if anybody else got one and if it was a mistake, that sux but i think they like me.

If you are the only one, this is more likely a mistake than anything else. It looks like you have a good shot at getting in anyways, for what it’s worth.

Janethedoe… Have you enrolled in the summer session at UCLA?

I get e-mails from Berkeley all the time and I’m pretty sure it’s because i’m enrolled in a summer course there.

absurdmike- nope i am not enrolled at any program at UCLA
however I SIRed with them for Fall 2009
BUT big BUT!!!
i received a notification in January that they removed me from URSA as a student.
SOOOOOO
why are they emailing me as a current student? i hope they arent screwing with me

Jane, I believe you are an anomaly. Most of us here did not get rescinded from UCLA last year…you may be on another mailing list or something that we are not. Take it as you will but I do not think one e-mail (that doesn’t even relate to admissions) is a clear indication of your acceptance.

wow janethedoe that looks like a really good sign! I am happy for you!

janethedoe on the fafsa did you check that you were willing to do student work?

Rwasko- I would like to say you bring up a good point, HOWEVER i was only on two mailing lists one from the Anthropology Department and one from the school itself. In January they emailed me saying that since I am not a student they deactivated my URSA account as a student and that i would no longer access the system
BEFORE January I received emails bi-weekly but AFTER January they stopped.
They could have easily re-activated me as a current student.

cooldude6- For Fall 2009 i did not because I had a job but for Fall 2010 I checked off the work-study box on FAFSA.

KelliC03- awww thank you <3
uctransferhope- :)

I do hope that you get in though…

i really think that it is probably mostly because you were accepted last year and it might be from a different data base. Like if you put on your FASFA last time that you wanted work study the work study program still has your information.

actually Victoria if you read my post i said i did not check on work-study for FAFSA 2009 because i had a job.
however for FAFSA 2010 i checked the work-study and the dislocated worker box.
i think the new dislocated worker option put me over the top, thanx Obama at least you made one positive change for the use of Federal money.

Oh cool that’s a good sign then, hopefully it wasn’t just a general email. But I don’t get why you are worried if you have already been accepted last year. Especially with the improvement in the GPA… I’d be SHOCKED if you were denied.

Jane I think its a great sign. I really hope you get in. See in the fall, bruin ;)

SFwarrior25- thanx, bruin hand bump

ps. assuming i get in of course :(

I think it is a good sign for you janethedoe. It doesn’t ruin my chances either because I think you got this email because you checked the “willing to do workstudy” box on the FAFSA. I didn’t check that box and hopefully that is the only reason I didn’t get this email.

Good luck janethedoe, I’m routing for you.

SFwarrior25- with ur stats of course you will!!!

thanx cooldude6 <3 :)

Cool Story Sis.

thanx brah
