I called admissions today and was told deferred transfer applicants could be waiting until the very end of April...Just thought i would pass that along..Also has anyone heard of a freshmen applicant or transfer being rejected so far this year?? I have not heard of one...

Possibly, but it is most likely we will hear around the 17-22nd

I applied as a transfer student, but did not submit my app until the day of the deadline, so I am still awaiting a decision. I've been checking Wolverine Access, but the "View Decision" link has not appeared. I spoke with an admissions officer who said that I should be receiving my decision by the end of this week. Is it likely that I was deferred since no decision has been posted?

Thanks in advance

Mojo- who did you talk to confrim that, sounds like 100% speculation to me.

Ck- Whats your stats, how many credits are you transferring, what school are you applying to/coming from, GPA, ect

I applied to LSA, hoping to transfer 36 credits from American University in Washington D.C. My GPA here was a 3.64, but I took somewhat difficult classes...calc, macro, etc. My ACT score was a 27. :/ SAT IIs: 670, 650, 640 (unfortunately, I was never a good standardized test taker). My high school NW GPA was a 3.8, but I took many honors/AP classes. of course, I've always been very involved in comm. service, clubs, sports, etc. Strong essays and recs, so I thought I had a somewhat decent chance as a transfer, but I'm beginning to doubt that...

premie...I assume you applied as a transfer as well? Are you hoping to transfer as a sophomore or junior? Also, when did you apply, and when did you hear?

Yes i did, i currently attend a large in-state college (wayne state university) I applied back on Nov 15, with my app being 100% complete on Dec 15ish.. i was deferred on Feb 10, havent heard a word since.. My current GPA is 3.42 however i will be applying as a junior, transferring 60 credits (the max) I have worked in the mortgage biz for over 5 years and have some rec letters from some very influential UMich Alums..Very involved in comm stuff and i just sent them my midterm grades with a 3.8 so my GPA is almost garunteed to go up..Good Luck buddy..

good luck to you too! nice to know we're not really competing for the same spot...let me know if you get in...who knows, maybe I'll see you next year :)

haha thanks, even though im pretty sure at the end of the day we are in direct competition because i dont think transfer admissions is broken down like that..but hey i could i be wrong, lets hope.

I spoke to my admissions counselor, she said all decisions will be mailed on the 15th, it takes 4 to 5 days to get to california from michigan.

mojojojoojojo- your assuming they dont extend the deposit deadline for transfers, which to my understand they can do..my adcom told me TODAY that its possible transfers will not hear until late april or MAY...she told me that today (april12), so im thinking my info superceeds yours unless UMich is just telling everyone different things, which i wouldnt put past them at this point..

Which college does that apply to? I applied to college of engineering, should I also expect a decision soon (say, within one or two weeks)?

LSA, i know nothing about engineering sorry.

decisions are online...

mine is not..is yours?

and yours was...

well for me it was online...

what did it say?

"Your decision will be arriving in the mail." Applied 3/4, deferred 3/27. Freshman with 4.0 GPA at top school, 1360 sat retaken for 2300. Very active with leadership positions. Surprised, to say the least.

Does anyone know if people ever transfer after one year in a school? Or do you have to stay two years before you can transfer?
