One strange thing I have noticed though -- I was talking to a friend from Yale, somehow the subject came up, and I realized that I don't think I've EVER seen a truly obese person at Duke. I've seen a few on the chubby side, sure I guess, but overall it's an incredibly thin student body. I really hope this message doesn't come off as un-PC or rude, and I don't mean to insult or offend anyone, but it just happened to be a very strange observation. I don't think that weight should be equated with attractiveness, but it often is, and the thinness of the student body is something sort of offsetting that, once I realized it, I couldn't stop noticing.

And haha, seahorse. Tell your buddies to come out of hiding, please - us Duke women would appreciate it.

I think Duke has an attractive student body-- I mean, we may not be as consistently hot as some bad state school, but I don't want to avert my eyes when I see a group of people or anything. And while there are some incredibly good looking guys, I think the girls tend to be better looking... but yeah, Duke students generally like to take care of themselves and look good.

and on a side note . . . do guys generally dress well there?

jw cuz half my friends call me a metro for actually paying attention to my hair and what I am wearing . . . hopefully i won't stick out from every1 else there lol.

haha no you wont. Some of my friends here at Duke think I'm a metro guy, but it's cool, it's more of just a joke. I will say though that, in my experience, college makes you a bit more lazy in that you realize that no one really cares what you dress like, especially to class. I mean on the weekends kids get nicely dressed, I suppose, for going out, etc. During the week though most people just wear jeans and a tshirt, polo, or somesuch.
