My daughters have done meal planning, prep, and serving for a group of unhomed community members for a few years. However, the past 12months have only been able to buy and deliver the meals due to Covid. Since I am high risk, they have pretty much been at home since this all started. I hear that schools want to see long term commitment. One of my twins (the one interested in AU) has taught herself to knit during this period to make hats and mittens for this same group in our community. Will this(not being able to serve meals) affect her chances of getting into AU? She has very good grades, honors and AP, and very interested in international relations. She plans to get a job as soon as she turns 16 and I can get a covid vaccine. Thanks for any suggestions.
Given that the pandemic has halted many extracurriculars, I would doubt that something like this makes a difference, especially since your daughter is still doing community service.
