She could also see some financial info

So if you can’t make one, does that mean its a possible rejection or waitlist? :frowning:

You all should wait until they send out decisions. They monitor and have a monitor - cheating students is not what any college wants.

how it cheating lol

How is this cheating??? Please explain.

You have an AU Future Eagle Account…you should (just my opinion) not set up another account or a student account to “cheat” their timeline. That’s an Honor issue (to me). If they monitor the CC as many schools do…just saying. I’m probably wrong - but why take the chance.

is it possible they haven’t input all the student information yet? i wasn’t able to verify my account but I really can’t comprehend getting rejected from this one…

i would think so, especially considering that the decision date isn’t for another week

From everything I’ve learned, AU is all about Demonstrated Interest. If you’ve continually connected or visited, etc. you can be a 25 ACT. If you’ve paid no attention to them, you can have a 34 ACT and get shot down.

They want who is really considering them (in their opinion) - not the person who applies just because.

Not true. While demonstrated interest is very important, it is not everything. There are many people with any stats who get accepted with little interest, as well as people with high interest who don’t get in. AU is as holistic as any other university.

I made the comment based on what “I heard”.

Schools that consider it important are looking for kids that are interested in them. I didn’t note that it’s explicit - but it’s a general statement that applies to many private colleges. It makes sense - they want to admit kids who they have a chance of getting to attend.

When I say I’ve heard, just on the CC chatboards.

Anyway that is what it is - my main (earlier) point was - when AU emails my child that their decision is ready, that’s when they will look. To set up a “duplicate” or accepted student account early…I would not want my child to do that. That and it’s just my opinion, shows a lack of integrity. But people have to live within their comfort zone.

My child has visited, fell in love, and it’s been more than 12 months, what’s another few weeks.

I do agree with the second part. It is cheating the system, and AU will likely take notice if students who have not yet gotten in are setting up accounts, especially in large numbers. It’s unethical to game the system like that.

My son has had ongoing problems accessing his portal. He resets the password, it works once, and then it doesn’t. We were checking it to make sure he could access it when decisions came out. It took us in circles again, and we found his decision. Not even sure what we did…and he is 90% decided on a different school. I think AU needs to improve its portal overall.

wow you saw the decision letter? i’m too scared to check before the date lol

Thank you. Perhaps my statement was too “explicit” - demonstrated interest does help. At many school - and I did read where high achievers were turned down but to your point, maybe their rigor was low or essays filled with errors.

I’m an addicted parent to the CC - but I’m hopeful I’ve put a good set of values into my child!! She hates that I’m on here

I will be excited for her if the decision goes her way - and I can afford it!!!

Good luck to all.

same i’m not gonna look either hahah

I looked and couldn’t even log into the portal. It is what it is I guess. Gotta just wait patiently for the decision.

No letter. Just a congratualtions on being accepted. Nothing about financial aid either. He has gotten excited about other schools who released decisions earlier, so he is most likely going to quickly decline to free up a spot for someone else…unless their is ridiculout merit, which i doubt. And really…he was having trouble accessing the portal…he was trying to reset the password…and we ended up there. It didn’t seem to be making a new account.

Wait is this future eagle or myau?
