Re the meal plan, if you get the smallest plan and you run out of swipes, can my D purchase food from the dining hall anyway with a debit card? Or can you only do that by getting more Eagle bucks?

They say on the website that you can buy blocks of additional swipes, but it doesn’t say how many in a block or how much per swipe they are. You probably could ask.

I don’t know if you could go into the TDR (the all-you-care-to-eat venue) without any swipes left, but all the other venues (the food court-type place on the main level of the Mary Graydon Center, that has bagels, sushi, etc; the convenience store/Subway in the underpass–whatever that is called; the coffee shop in the SIS) seem to take Eagle Bucks or, I believe, money.

However, I don’t think it’s difficult to add more Eagle Bucks. It’s an online money transfer thing. Anyone can put money into the student’s Eagle Bucks. So even if a venue only takes Eagle Bucks (which I don’t think any of them do–as visitors, we paid with non-AU forms of payment), it wouldn’t be an insurmountable problem.

megpmom: sorry if I wasn’t clear. I wasn’t saying not to spend the EagleBucks. I was just saying that there is no advantage to using the EagleBucks at places like CVS, etc. Instead, use the EB for laundry & on campus. Also, EB don’t go away, they roll over for as long as you’re a student.
