Meal Plans

Wondering if people know when/how to change your meal plan selection for next semester prior to the semester starting (and bills being generated)? Am I right in thinking Eagle Bucks carry over to the next semester, but unused food swipes do not? Thanks!!

Yes. Eagle Bucks do carry over from semester to semester, but unused meal swipes do not. (There is lots of sharing at the end of the year between people in higher plans who have a large amount of swipes to spare.)

Any changes that want to be made must be made through the student’s my.american portal under ‘Life@AU’ and then click ‘Select Meal Plan’. Returning students are automatically enrolled in a meal plan – and I believe they can change it between the two weeks that lead up to the semester until January 26th.

Hope that helps.

Really? D thought we were stuck for the year. So we really can change her out for 2nd semester? She has waaaay too many meals that won’t get used.

For a first year student the smallest meal plan you can do is 150 meals. My D went to the 75 meal plan this year which works ok for her because she and her roomie who also is on the 75 meal plan buy staples like hummus and soup etc to cook. Last year she had many extra meals at the end of each semester because she tends to eat only 1 big meal a day and eat little bits at other times.
