Waitlisted
Anyone attend an offsite info session and get a result? Can you share please?
Mail comes in an hour. I feel like a dog just sitting here at the window waiting for the postman haha.
It seems like ppl with high stats are getting rejected/ waitlisted
I’m sooooo nervous American is my first choice I’m just sitting waiting for my mail to arrive aghhhhh
Does anyone think showing demonstrated interest played a big factor in the decision? Seeing people with high stats getting waitlisted sounds like the case I saw in some other school discussion boards where people with high stats who didn’t visit got waitlisted/rejected and others with lower stats who visited got accepted.
@snavea look at their common data set, demonstrated interest is more important than test scores and only gpa and course rigor are as important
@violingirl20 Do you mind sharing your reasoning for preferring AU over GW?
Still waiting and getting super nervous, do you think there are acceptances being sent out still or is that it you think?
I know you didnt @ me, but i prefer AU because of the campus, and the smaller student body/less emphasis on grad school, and an independent com school
@shafthalf Cool. Thx for sharing!
I’m pretty sure all of NYC got results today.
I got mine about an hour ago- accepted to SIS!
I just received my mail and there was no letter from AU :(((

@not2disappear congratulations!!! where are you from?
nothing here in Raleigh NC
I think I had stats on the somewhat higher end (1410 SAT, 4.0/4.2 WGPA) and visited, and contacted my rep, but still got waitlisted. The whole “level of interest” being highly considered by the admissions team irks me because there is so much room for error on their part. Obviously I could demonstrated more interest but it seems a bit ridiculous to me that grades and test scores are on the same level to the admissions team as how many of their webinars you watch. I guess I’m just a bit salty lol.
Midwestern MD (near Gaithersburg) - Waitlisted. Came in a small envelope. I attended the interview, 1270 SAT, 4.5 weighted GPA, great recommendations, and some extracurriculars/clubs.
Edit: I applied as a Biology major. Doesn’t your major have to do with your chances of acceptance? My friend seemed to easily get into the public health scholars.
@djm1999 i couldnt agree more. Unfortunately, Interest isnt just on par with Test scores… it’s even more important than scores
