I had mine pulled about two months ago. It wasn't as bad as I thought, and the only real problem was living off of pudding and apple sauce for a week. Oh well, I lost weight, which was nice.

Just don't expect to be "fully functional" the next day.

Actually, being fully functional depends on the person. I've been a little weak today after having had them removed yesterday, not to mention my face is still swelled up. But besides being limited to practically baby food, it doesn't take too much out of you physically. Most people will recommend that you take it easy.

As for me, I went hiking. These boots aren't gonna break themselves in.

Depending on how much impacted they are, you could really have an easy time. I got mine out last year, and didn't even have to go under for the surgery. He simply took out a tool and pulled them right out. My mouth was bleeding for a good portion of that day, but I was 100 percent the next.

you could also have a really hard time... when i got mine out last july, i couldn't stay away for more than about 30 minutes at a time for 2 days. apparently i really took to the anesthesia... i guess the bright side is that i wound up not using very much of the pain medication because i slept through the worst of it.

Don't worry. Just follow the oral surgeons instructions and take it easy for a few days. They will give you pain medication for discomfort. Its a great opportunity for you to get a little TLC from your parents, watch some good movies, and get the best seat on the couch.

And here we have the difference between 17 and 21, sadly enough.

I know that in a prior post, I offered to post some pictures of my swollen cheeks for the general amusement of this discussion board. However, I have since then seen my reflection in the mirror and must rescind that offer. Believe me, it's for your own good. Brett Farve's jaw does not look good on my face.

Oh, and in case any readers are from St. Louis, which is where I had the surgery done, I wanna take a moment to recommend Dr. Roy Bedrock. He used to work at NASA, and let me tell you, his staff did a great job. They even called me at home to make sure I was all right, and that's not something I was expecting from a big city like St. Louis. So forgive me for advertising, but I thought I'd return the favor.
