Wisdom Teeth

I’m just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the AFA dental clinic. In particular, if you have had your wisdom teeth extracted while at AFA. My son was told by the dental clinic that his wisdom teeth have to be removed. He’s trying to decide whether to have it done there or at home this summer during leave. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

i had all 3 of mine (yeah, weird only 3) removed by the clinic last year. I recieved a couple of days for bedrest. so i missed classes i wanted to, but felt good enough to go to class the day after (and did for one class). you recieve plenty of eatable food (soups, Ensures, puddings, spaghetti O's, etc) so that was actually kinda nice as opposed to Mitch's. i have heard of ppl who ahve had trouble, but that goes with any time teeth are removed. overall, people heal relatively quickly.

its obviously up to him, but i would recommend getting it done here. one, you have plenty of ppl around to help you out and hang with. the food is great. also, at home i'd rather be up and going non-stop visitng ppl and hanging out rather than being stuck in a bed. so its your (or his) call, but i did mine here and was very glad. any other quesitons let me know

I had mine taken out at the base hospital. The surgery went fine (I don't remember ANY of it...mmm, good drugs there, lol). I didn't find out about the food selection, so I was on ensure and soup from my squad store for a few days...that wasn't the most fun. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.

I agree with eagle. I'd rather miss a couple days of class (in my case 2 days and the weekend) than a few days of leave!

Thanks for the info guys...I'll be sure to pass it along to my son.

got mine out friday. i'm definitely glad i got it done before i leave, i really wouldnt want to do this out there or home on leave.. lots of bleeding and soreness and swelling
