My son got waitlisted at AU and is on the fence between Dickinson College and AU.
What are your thoughts between the two schools. If it were me I’d pick Dickinson and go where the love is and the scholarship/merit aid. Please chime in here, thanks!
Check the percentage of students who get in off the waitlist. Our experience was that it was VERY low, much lower than RD, and so not worth the extra stress of waiting and hoping. Dickinson was on D’s list and we very much liked the school. They are in very different locations, how does your son feel about living in the city vs. rural?
@brummell I think you’re right. Go where the love is and the reward of merit aid for all the hard work your son put in. Both good schools. Dickinson is rated higher than American. Your son can spread his wings in a liberal arts community. If a sport spectator or participant Dickinson offers more opportunity. As wait listed you don’t know what aid merit or otherwise American will offer. It seems according to other posts, American either doesn’t have a lot of merit aid to spread or it’s given to a small group.
