My daughter checked her application today and it says Decision Made. Did anyone else get this today?
We did. Hate that it’s Friday night…and we have to wait until Monday! lol! Keep me posted if you hear anything!
Yes, my daughter got that as well… It now says “contact admissions office,” while some of her friends status changed to “referred to AUM.” Any update with y’all?
@chloesmom2710 What is referred to AUM? And from what I understand, those are the only two answers given today. I hate that we have to wait all weekend…
@Ellie456 Did yours say anything besides Decision Made?
@chloesmom2710 my son got “please contact admissions office” as well. I was worried about him getting in. He has a 2.79/4.0 gpa and a 26 ACT but has documented learning disabilities. How were your daughters stats?
My friends daughter got “referred to AUM” a few weeks ago when she was denied, sadly I think that is Auburn’s way of denying. AUM is Auburn University of Montgomery. The campus is in Montgomery, but you can take AUM classes on Auburns University’s campus.
My daughter had a very low ACT of 19 and a 3.8 GPA, BUT she has an alumni dad and a sister in-house and has excellent high school background with many awards and accomplishment. We have been driving the admissions board nuts for the past month trying to get her in.
@Ellie456 what about your child, what are his/her stats? Just trying to get a feel for what the group Conact Admissions Office looks like?
Out daughter also received the “referred to AUM” response. In doing some research, There is a seamless entry thru AUM…you can take classes at Auburn but after 3p.m. Or at AUM. 25 credits and a particular gpa and you are admitted to Auburn. I️ don’t believe you get housing. Google seamless Auburn acceptance and you will get the info. I’m assuming all this info will be coming to us via snail mail? Kinda disappointed in the delivery…
My daughter got the decision made, contact admissions message. She has a 1210 SAT, 3.8 GPA (above 4.0 junior and senior years), 7 AP classes and mostly honors in other classes, 4 year varsity athlete, senior captain, 100+ service hours and some leadership. Disappointed this came out Friday afternoon with no way to contact until Monday. Why not just wait to update the portals until Monday?
My daughter has a 1260 SAT, 4.1 unweighted GPA with AP classes, etc. Good recs. She got refer to AUM. It is cruel to do this on a weekend… Is this the first year they have given these types of responses?
@ffxcountymom My daughter is very similar to yours in regards to stats and extra curricular and got the same Contact Admissions message. It doesn’t sound like there is any rhyme or reason to that message or the Refer to AUM message, but I agree that this is torture!! I read somewhere else that someone called the admissions office on Friday and was told they were having computer (website/portal) problems… maybe this is part of it? I don’t know. Trying not to think about it, but it’s hard.
@macon39 I have no idea about whether or not this is the first time they have done this kind of response. Wishing everyone the best of luck with everything. Is this where she has her heart set on going?
My son got the “referred to AUM” too. Is it really true that they can take classes on Auburn’s main campus? What is the difference then? Do they have access to all the facilities at Auburn?
@HappyMomInCA It’s her first choice, but we knew even if she got accepted, there would be a good chance she couldn’t attend. I graduated from there. However, OOS tuition is high, and Auburn isn’t known for lots of financial aid. If she were the only one in college, it wouldn’t be so bad. She will be one of three in college at the same time because there is a set of twins only one year apart from her. She has also applied to UGA, UNC, Davidson. I hope your daughter is accepted if it’s her first choice. I think mine will be OK. But it’s a blow to her self esteem for her first notification to be a “no”-- if indeed it is. I bet their phones will blow up Monday morning.
@macon39 My daughter isn’t sure what her first choice is. We have a friend who went to Auburn and loved it. We are in California, so we haven’t even been to Auburn to visit. It just sounds like I school she would love. She applied quite a few places because she wasn’t completely sure where she wanted to go. California schools are much better for tuition, but harder to get into…very impacted. It’s kind of ridiculous. She’s been accepted to other schools that she would be happy at, but I think if she gets into Auburn, it would be a serious consideration because it has a lot of what she is looking for in a college. This waiting over the weekend is nerve wracking. It’s funny you have twins. I have younger twins that will be in college in a few years. So for now out of state tuition isn’t going to be too bad…but there will be some overlap soon. I wish you and your daughter the best of luck. Thank you for responding to my message. It’s at least nice to be able to talk about this with someone in the same boat.
My daughters application now changed from “contact admissions” to “wait list.” We are still calling admissions this morning. Any update with y’all?
Same for my daughter, waitlisted.
has anyone had luck with contacting admissions? Ive called several times but I assume they’re being flooded with calls because I can’t get through.
