Hello

I am an accounting major. I want to know does it 'look good/okay' to university to audit an upper level accounting/tax class at my local community college before I transfer?

I am not taking it for credit

I just want to get a feel for what I am headed for?

Any constructive advice is welcome

Why would your community college have upper division accounting classes?

Typically you are hard pressed to find a CC that has anything above sophomore level classes.

^^Actually a majority of CCs offer upper level accounting classes because of the large number of people that opt to take CC classes to fulfill the CPA hours requirement.

I’m also suprised CC offer upper level classes.

umm…don’t think “University” would care if you audited a class as cc. why would they?

Honestly if you’ve taken introductory financial & managerial (the introductory accounting courses at most schools) you have a pretty good “feel” for where you are headed.

…although if you decide to do so, I suggest a tax course.
