Audition Invitation 2010

Anyone else get thier audition invitation? D and I will be there on 2/28…just got the letter today. This is our very last audition and we’re both looking forward to relaxing a bit after this!

My sons last as well, but still have not been invited!

My D got her invitation in the mail yesterday!

Was it the yellow request for audition form? We got that as well. Does that mean they have been accademically accepted and invited to audition? It asks for the request to be completed with a head shot and resume. Not sure if this means he will definately get an audition or just one more step in the process???

I got my invitation on Wednesday! SO excited! It’s my last audition…but I haven’t had my first yes (the 27th!), but Wagner is gonna be a fun one!

Purple9, yes it was a yellow request for an audition form. And I’ve been wondering the same thing…it didn’t specifially state that she was academically accepted. But the invitation to audition must be based on something… Also…it asks if you wish to do a separate audition for a Music Scholarship through the music dept that is available to theater majors. My initial response was, yes please! But after looking through the website it appears that there are very specific requirements for the scholarship audition (sight reading, performing a song form a different time period, & a song in foreign language). Hopefully there are theater scholarships as well.

I recommend if you have the opportunity to do the music scholarship audition to do so. Last year my D did a latin song from chamber choir for her foreign language selection. If you are not accepted into MT but want to go to Wagner for theatre studies or any other major, then the music scholarship they offer is usually substantial. If you get into the MT program, you can only take the MT scholarship if offered, not both. There was some confusion over this last year. Music scholarship requirements interfere with the academic curriculum for MT students.

We were in the your place a year ago. Break a leg all you auditioners and parents- keep breathing and supporting your kids! :)
