<p>I think some university has a list of over used songs. I believe "On The Street..." is one of them.</p>
<p>I'm looking for a high soprano ballad that isn't too operatic and allows for a lot of characterization, but isn't too "flitty." So far the only one I've found that fits my criteria is "Lover,Come Back to Me"from A New Moon, so if anyone has any ideas for darker soprano arias, I would really appreciate it!</p>

<p>My daughter auditioned ED for NYU - CAP 21 (she is now a sophomore) with
"Mr. Snow" and "I'm Not at All in Love"</p>
<p>This was before the revival of PJ Game on Broadway - but they seemed to serve her well.</p>

<p>MissMillenium -- maybe "Simple Little Things" from 110 in the Shade, "When Did I Fall in Love" from Fiorello, or "Somebody Somewhere" from Most Happy Fella. </p>
<p>The challenge with these songs (particularly the first two) is that the characters and their realm of life experience may be a bit more mature or older than the average 17 or 18 year old. So, you will have to make sure to find a way into these songs dramatically that will make sense for you as a performer. </p>
