Audition tapes

Hi i'm a student in Korea so obviously i cant fly to the states to audition for skools. i have make an audition tape but has anyone made it before? i tried to make one last time but then it hardly captured my facial expression. i was on stage so i used the stage lights because the video looked too dark without them but then again once i used the lights, they were too bright that my face was totally washed out
what should i do? should i rather film it in a room rather than on a stage? or should i wear stage make up on to show the distinct feature of my face?
help me out here thanks!

Hi, I think you need to talk with a videographer, someone who makes videos for a living (like for weddings and such). Explain that you are trying to make an audition tape for college and see if they will give you some advice for lighting, make-up etc. You may have to talk to a few to find someone willing to advise you. You might also try to find a book about making video tapes. Also I don't think you want the video to be too "produced", the auditioners might think it's been "fixed" and doesn't show you how you really are, which is very important!
Good Luck!

Do you have a coach or s/o you've worked with that can help you? My daughter's coach just uses natural lighting (daytime) and a white wall, and a stool to sit on, no other props are appropriate, I believe. I wouldn't recommend stage makeup. There are some coaches on this site, perhaps you can pm them, also. Good luck!
