<p>My children will have one aunt and two uncles who are Tulane graduates. Does this carry any weight with Tulane admissions? Is it worth mentioning on an app, and if so, how / where?</p>
<p>Certainly can't hurt, but will probably only make a minor difference in a borderline application, where it may be enough to tip the balance. But have no idea where to put it on the app. For our D, the aunt legacy, I suspect (but can't be sure) helped at one nationally-ranked school (which she then decided not to attend...) which had a very low OOS acceptance rate but not at another. </p>
<p>My guess is that legacies, unless they are REALLY big donors, generally fall into the third tier of consideration at most schools. </p>
