If you're looking for a liberal arts school that offers freedom, DEFINITELY look into the following:

-Hamilton (NY)
-Hampshire (MA)
-Marlboro (VT)
-Wooster (OH)
-Bennington (VT)

These schools will let you choose your own course in education--and give you an excellent shot at admissions. I happen to be applying to all of them. :-)

If you're happy to live in Australia, then I would discard the safety schools and go for the top ones only. That's what I'm doing. If I can't get into HYP + MIT + Dartmouth I'll be staying in Australia where I pretty much have a guaranteed free ride at ANU.

Hmm, when I said there's more freedom I meant I could do a business administration/ecos major and minor in something completely different like english lit. But good suggestions I495.

Another reason why I want to study in the US is that I really think it'll open more doors for me internationally. Also, I'd love to have an experience where I can really explore my academic interests as an individual. Studying abroad would allow me to do just that.
