<p>i do indeedy enjoy that privelage… not that i got into any of the need blind schools but I also qualify for financial aid at every school and don’t need a visa (not meaning to gloat here) like can be sweet that way.</p>

<p>hey so FA how giving are they because the only way i will be able to study in the US is with FA. Also about residency can you apply when your over there on your student visa or can you apply before you leave and how long does it take generally to get it?
Also as an international are you able to get loans?
One last question i’m from NZ but my uncle lives in Perth and i have a small possibility of moving over there if i want to would you guys recommend this or should i stay in NZ and if so what schools in Perth are good? my mum say my uncle live around the uni somewhere.</p>
<p>with FA you have to be careful cause alot of schools say they are need blind but aren’t to international students. also a lot of school won’t give financial aid to international students <em>thank god I didn’t have that problem… sorry to rub it in guys</em> so you really need to research that and BE CAREFUL
It is SUPER hard to get residencey unless you are related to someone over there too, but you are basically guarenteed a student visa (or so I believe) if you are accepted into a university and show you can support yourself financially. Not the best person to answer that question… sorry. Also… I feel okay saying it now… </p>

residency will take a while. for example i have a grandmother who is a citizen and i havnet gotten mine after more than 6 years. it maybe a bit faster since you are a nz citizen and not many ppl there apply for it. but you prob wont get it in time for uni so don’t plan it along those lines so much.
and if you are not a resident or a citizen you cant get loans or FA through school. Its like 90% merit aid and though some schools give need-base aid, most are need-aware meaning more money you ask for, less chance you have of getting in. there are like 8 need-blind schools for internationals but they’re the hardest to get in. ie. harvard and yale.
i dont no much bout internationals getting loans but i dont think teh school will give it to you as part of the package but more of help yourslef by looking for it. </p>
<p>about perth you mean for uni or for highschool? if its for highschool i dont recommend moving so late in your years (which i assume you are?) because your grades will be affected no matter how smart you are. </p>
