As far as the IB tests, I've only taken one test which was last May. I took the Math Studies/Statistics test and received a 6 out of 7 on it.

Recommendations: I don't think I sent one...I did the common application.

Essays: The personal statement was good; could've been better

Honestly, I don't really know much about Austin College. I know it's a great school academically, but what about the social life? Are the two pretty balanced?

I just got accepted this week, and thought some information about myself would be useful. I was shocked on how gracious they were with financial aid, and also their admissions staff is beyond friendly.

GPA: 3.0 (I go to a girls competitive prep-school who doesnt rank)
SAT: Verbal: 690
Math: 640
Writing:670 (Essay 11/12)

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Personal Statement: I hope it was decent, being that I want to be a writer.

As far as extra-cirrculars go: I was a varsity athlete four years, done a lot of theater, and am a published poet.

As you can see from earlier my GPA wasnt great, but they were still VERY nice about financial aid (gave me about 40,000).

Thanks for the information. Do you go to Hockaday by any chance?

Haha, indeed I do. Very nice guessing!

I was accepted EA...

Anyone plan on going to Roo Camp? I just got the registration forms in the mail.

I was also accepted EAII, and am just waiting on my financial aid package (I also got a 9,000 dollar scholarship).

I got in RD but I don't know much about the school. Could somebody tell me more about the academics at Austin College?

Lots of science kids. Lots of science classes. Lots of pre-met/bio/chem majors.

How did you find out that you got in?

I got a letter in February

Is anyone going to Roo Camp? I was awarded a $12,000 renewable merit-based scholarship and so I am really considering Austin College. I can't go to Roo Camp though because it is the same weekend as prom and so I am going April 20th. Any suggestions on things that are absolutely must-sees?

Hey pdesai06 and breannaK88, will you be attending?

Just got accepted with a Founders Scholarship.

I got the Founders Scholarship too! Congratulations! Are you planning on attending?

I'm definitley considering it...Austin College seems like such a great school. It also has a good pre-med program.
