Hi guys,

I am an Australian national with a 3 year Australian bachelor degree looking at studying an MS in the US. I was wondering if someone can comment with some definitive knowledge whether a 3 year Australian education is considered equivalent/comparable to the US degree. I've searched on the internet only to get conflicting views.

To add, in my first year i started off in a different course and then changed my degree into a 3 year degree thereby completing total 4 years at university however receiving a degree which is basically offered in 3 years.

I also have 4 years of relevant work experience.

Thanks for your help

You need to contact each of the post-graduate programs that you are interested in, and ask them directly. Each institution (and often each department with in that institution) sets its own policy about this.

For general information about studying in the US, spend some time reading the info at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/) and contact the counselors at the advising center closest to where you live. There are several in Australia: [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/Australia#.TpH2A5sr27s) You also can take specific questions about the MS program(s) that interest you to the Grad School Forum. Go to the main page where all the forums are listed and then scroll down to find it.

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks for the quick response mate. I’ll try to follow the two sources mentioned and see how it goes. Cheers
