I am planning to go on exchange in 2015 in August for a semester, I will be 18 at the time.
I am currently studying Business and Journalism and really looking for the full college experience and somewhere extremely social where I can make a bunch of new american friends.

The following list is my available options, I would love any opinions or advice on what you think. I'm sort of leaning towards Arizona State, Purdue and Northwestern currently..

Arizona State University
Purdue University
Michigan State University
University of Florida
University of Minnesota
San Jose State University
Northwestern University

I have absolutely no idea what any of these colleges are like so I thought here would be the best place to ask!

AZ State will be bacchanalia central, and the undergrads are very attractive and, um, festive. Florida will be similar. Northwestern is a very “traditional” US-style uni, but it’s very academically challenging and in a cold place (but it has superb undergrad journalism–top 2 or 3 in the US).

Do you like a warm environment? Arizona or Florida
Do you like a cold environment? Purdue, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern
San Jose would be kind of in between.

Purdue and Northwestern would be more academic than the rest.

But truly you could not go wrong at any of them. Think about the weather, and then look further at the majors. For example, how many professors are there in the department? That gives you an idea of how large that program is.
