So, as the title imposes, I received Auto Admit to the UGA honors program, which means that I was in the top 2% of applicants. The charter scholarship is for students that are in the top 6%. So wouldn't basic math imply that all auto admit's would receive charter? Or is my reasoning far fetched.

Honors admissions is determined by Honors, and Charter is awarded by Admissions — two different entities with two different criterion. Because you qualify for one doesn’t necessarily mean you automatically qualify for the other.

Best of luck, though. Hopefully you’ll receive a late Charter in the mail.

My honors WAS awarded by admissions, that’s why I said I received it auto admission. I never had to fill out an application for the program. :S

We’re talking around each other. Charter scholarships have nothing to do with Honors — they are awarded by UGA’s Undergraduate Admissions Office (which is a separate entity from UGA’s Honors Program).

My daughter is in the same position. She was accepted EA and auto admitted to honors, but hasn’t been offered a scholarship. I went back and charted everyone on here that posted being offered honors and/or scholarship and so far no one has posted that they got both. I would assume that if you were auto admitted to honors that most would also be offered a scholarship, but that doesn’t seem to be the way it is going. In my daughter’s case her stats are not that high. She has an unweighted 4.0 and only a 32 on the ACT. I think her EC helped her into the honor’s program. It is unrelated to academics but she has been involved since she was 4 and has many state, regional, and national level awards for it.

Last year, Admissions continued offering scholarships as late as March/early April. I’d imagine they will take the same path this year, so there’s still hope of receiving Charter/Presidential/etc.

I really hope I can get a grand a year, that would be super nice

my s got ********* and then presidential, but the presidential did not show up until about Jan.25. so do not give up hope- they are still offering scholarships.

auto admit— do not know why it bleeped out the word

gasenioryear: Congrats!!

Congrats on the Presidential.
