Automatic Rescind?

Ok so I will most likely end up with a D+ in Honors-Precalclus. I only got into SDSU and UCR.

Is this enough to rescind me? I have an A in ap psych and a b in anatomy currently.

UCWGPA: 3.88

Rescinds are very rare and usually occur because of an ethical transgression or a real meltdown. One bad grade rarely results in a rescind.

On my admissions they said to have no grade below a C and a 3.0 unwehgithed GPA.

Are you saying they're mostly bluffing, then?

Well, if they explicitly stated that as a condition, then they're not necessarily bluffing. But still, I wouldn't consider it an automatic rescind. I'll give you the same advice I give everyone. Call up the admissions department, explain what happened, and offer to take the course (or a similar one) over in the summer if necessary.

Ok sounds good.

Would that be a bad time to tell them that I want to drop the class for the last quarter? :D

Probably...

I REALLY don't want to take that class for the next nine weeks....

I mean, should I at least ask if that will affect their decision?

Oh yeah is getting a W two days before the final a plausible option?

Well, getting a W isn't technically lower than a C. I'd call them and talk to them. If you're considering a W, make sure you have a good reason. If you're convincing, it shouldn't be a problem.

Well I'd get it so I don't get a D. Also, if I continue with it next quarter, I'm bound to get another D.Is admitting that I'm not ready for this level of math a good reason (to get a W, and therefore stop taking the class next quarter as well), or does it just sound like I'm being lazy? I'd still have an AP class, admittedly an easy one.

It's really hard to say. I'd never advise someone to tell an admissions department that they're not ready for advanced high school math. By the same token, if there's absolutely no other option, then honesty sometimes pays off.

I'm going to go back to my original advice because I don't want to get you in trouble!

Call up the admissions department, explain what happened, and offer to take the course (or a similar one) over in the summer if necessary.

They might just tell you not to sweat it!

Ok thanks, I'll try calling them up tomorrow.

I doubt you'd get rescinded from a Cal State for a D+. I've seen people go with worse. Riverside may be iffy.... but they generally have lower standards. Stress that you'd really like to attend when calling.

^Thanks guys you're making me feel better!

That is kinda what's keeping me from submitting by SIR. I don't want deposit my money, then get kicked out.
