Just completed Montclair’s app…anyone know how long it takes to get scheduling information for auditions?

Montclair is a state university. In my experience, those tend to be the slowest when it comes to administrative matters.

It would be interesting to know if you have smooth, fast dealings with Montclair and Purchase. Good luck!

Purchase and Montclair had the easiest apps to fill out. My D loved the essay choices. I have an email in to Montclair, let’s see if I hear anything.

Purchase’s app wasn’t too bad but the last time I checked you could not schedule an audition and they had a note posted on the website saying that they were re-doing the registration part of the website and you can’t register until November.

That’s what I read too for Purchase. Montclair wasn’t quite as clear.

NYU Tisch is officially up now. I just wish they would quit putting transfers in April, since most other schools you are notified by May even as a transfer.

I just saw the dates and places but no ability to schedule Tisch yet…what am I missing?

Last year, Montclair’s communications were spotty at best, and they did not send us the link to sign up for auditions, I had to call them. That being said, their head of the acting department was one of the most responsive and informative and it was very hard to turn their acceptance down.

bisouu, the artistic review scheduler will be up on October 21st. In the meantime, be figuring out which choices of audition dates you want(based on whether you are Early Decision, Regular Decision, or Transfer) and finishing your application. If it is like previous years, you may be able to schedule the audition prior to submitting the application. I have applied a couple years, but due to travel finances had to withdraw my application. Still don’t understand the April only for transfers, since it stacks the cards against transfers.

Thank you brad…I don’t understand that either. Seems very late to me

bisouu, it is quite late. The acceptance letters don’t come until mid-May, and other schools require a deposit by May 1st. Since nobody in their right mind would apply to only one school for a good acting program, it makes you wonder if they are using that to discourage transfers both in and out.

Has anyone been able to schedule for NYU?

I can’t get the Password to work. Do you have to wait 48 hours after making the password to make it work?

Do you have to have your application in to set up an audition for NYU?

bisouu, I think you do have to have your application in prior to setting up your audition. This didn’t used to be the case but apparently it is now. It should say so on the website, I would imagine.

Yes our app is in and we got an email on how to set up her ID but that is the part I am having trouble with.

I finally got into the NYU artistic review scheduler…and it says appointments will be available this week. But it was not working yet to schedule.
Tip - when trying to log into what NYU calls “albert” in order to schedule your artistic review, make sure you use the NET ID they sent you and not the University ID they sent. They are two different things. I used the wrong one repeatedly and was driving myself nuts.

Although many things have changed through the years since my D auditioned at Tisch, I would imagine that one thing has stayed the same, and so I strongly recommend that you keep a close eye on the website so you know when the scheduler opens. The time slots have always filled up very quickly so if you want a particular date, keep your eye out.

It seems strange that as of today, 10/23, scheduling has yet to begin. It used to be that it opened on 10/1. My D’s audition for E.D. was on November 4. I wonder why the scheduling takes place so much later now.

We got an e-mail today from Rutgers and I was able to schedule her audition from the link in the e-mail.

Tisch artistic review scheduler still not up and running…
