I’m applying right now to UT Austin undergraduate studies and was wondering what the average scores and gpa was. I’ve looked everywhere online but since it’s not a major and is just something offered to freshman there are no statistics. My gpa is a 3.8 and ACT is 30, I go to one of the top ten most competitive schools in Texas.
I have never seen average scores for undergraduate studies. I’m assuming you are not in the top 7% for auto admission. I did look at the Common Data Set and the ACT scores for 25%/75% were 26/32. The problem with those numbers, they would include students who were in the top 7% and received auto admit but had lower ACT scores as well recruited athletes that might have lower scores. I don’t know how many students they accept directly into UGS vs students who don’t get their first/second choices and end up there. UT is definitely a reach school for you but hope for the best. Make sure you apply to other schools as well.
My son was just accepted to UT Austin today. Top 4.5% in his class, GPA 3.6 unweighted and weighted 4.6 GPA…SAT 1290 math 660. Hispanic Merit Scholar. In band, Captain of his Swim Team, member of the NHS and took IB, AP and dual credit and alot of volunteering hours. Waiting on decision for major in Engineering
