UT c/o 22 non-auto admits

Hey guys,
thought I should make a discussion for University of Texas at Austin applicant who are NOT in the top 7%.
My name is Dede and I am a senior in north TX, my stats are pretty average.

Rank: 49/340 (14%)
Gpa: 3.46/4.15
ACT: 24
EC: work 15+ hours, president/co-founder of a club at my school, math uil, writng uil, AVID club, youth ministry leader, church and community volunteer hours (100+)
Intended major: nutrition
African American female
I think I wrote a pretty decent essay, I feel like it was really unique and different (it was about grocery shopping lol)

Please feel free to leave your stats below!

Managed to bump my ACT to a 25!

I think you have a shot, but a higher ACT score could really help you… UT’s average ACT is a 29.

I am so shook about the auto-admit thing!! They already know and I’m just sitting here (out of state) like hm where is my decision

You have to be a really strong applicant if your not auto. You have to make up with ECs and great test scores as a way of proving to them that you have what it takes. a 25 ACT falls way under the average of a 29. You have to work on that as it is a way of proving to them that you are a good student.

@emmajac same dude! stay optimistic.
