Average Student

I'm new and not sure where to post this. My son is an average student. He has a GPA of 3.2 and is taking two honors classes a year. Don't have SAT scores yet. He only belongs to a Latin Club and isn't involved in sports. Are there colleges out there that he will be able to get into???

Absolutely. There have been several threads on students like your son, who by the way, is definitely above average. I will try to link some of the relevant threads for you. But you might also want to post information on the type of school you think he will be seeking. Many specific suggestion could come from that.

Welcome.

He can get into the vast majority of colleges in the US. The problem is the top 30 is what everyone wants. After that, a kid with decent stats has lots of choice.

As already noted, there are literally hundreds of colleges to choose from. So, tell us a bit more about your son - what are his interests? How does he spend his free time? What type of college would fit him best (size, geographic location, etc.)? And, will you need financial aid?

Then we can give you more targeted suggestions of schools to look at.

There are lots of private colleges for him. The problem may be keeping merit aid for kids in this category that are middle class and won't get much financial aid, and cannot afford 40,000+/year! JMO, but I bet if you apply to the right schools he will get in, and might land some merit aid at several schools.
