I'm a member of two separate vocal ensembles at my school (both auditioned, both with regular concerts, although one is a lot more involved than the other). Both of them meet and rehearse as legitimate, credit-earning classes, forty minutes a day, five days a week.

However, they also have more than enough extracurricular involvement to count as an activity (as they do for Honor Society applications, etc.) For the less intensive one, there are probably 12 or so weeks during the year with a concert, which range from 3 to 5 hours. For the more intensive one, it's about 15 weeks, many of which have multiple concerts (so like 7 hours on average.)

My problem is whether I should count the other 3 or so hours we spend in class every week rehearsing. The class itself takes the place of our lunch period, so it really is a "extra" thing; it's not like I'm going there instead of math class. But then again it also earns credits, so I'm not sure how that would go over in admissions. (I don't want it to look like I'm padding my resume.)
