So far, my average tuition accounting everything is just 13 thousand dollars and I was wondering if that is a lot. The college I have applied for is Schreiner, UTSA, UT, UH, and A&M. Out of those, only Schreiner and UTSA have shown how much they are giving me for financial aid which varies but ultimately makes my tuition 13k. (The number I used for tuition with everything is the average that is shown online)
If these are actual financial aid offers, do they match the numbers you saw when you ran the colleges’ net price calculators before applying?
A lot or a little doesn’t matter.
What matter is whether or not you and your family find any of the aid packages affordable.
What is your EFC?
How much will your parents pay each year?
What are your parents saying about these “net costs”?
Many would be thrilled to have a $13k per year net cost. Others wouldn’t be able to pay.
Did those net costs include a federal loan?
Here is a handy calculator from our friends at FinAid.org that you can use to help compare your aid offers:
Your financial aid award makes your tuition $13,000 or it makes your total cost $13,000? If that’s just your tuition then the cost of attendance with room and board is probably ~$25k. How much can your parents pay per year?
Why not post the FA offer as written. The someone can help break it down for you.
