.avi=>dvd?

I have been able to successfully transfer my .avi movie files onto a DVD-R cd, but the problem is that it can only be viewed on the computer.

So how can I create a DVD-R CD that can be played on the DVD player?

Which program? I think I've used Nero, and it said that "no pathway existed for the file."

Sonic MyDVD can handle that, I think. Plus, the new version of Windows Vista is supposed to come standard with an easy-to-use avi (or just about any other file type) to DVD converter.

"The software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for files you are working with may help to correct this problem. -47001"
