xvid to avi file?

<p>i have a movie that is in xvid but i want to convert it to avi or mpeg so that i can view it on my computer using either VLC player or WM Player.</p>

<p>Yes, you can use a DVD converter (I think). Try using Digital Media Converter.</p>

<p>Yeah, download the XVid codec, VLC plays everything as long as you have the codec.</p>

<p>i am thinking it might be a .bin file. i converted it to a .rar file but that didnt work. i did download the xvid codec but i didnt see a difference.</p>

<p>If it is split into that many parts its probably zipped. Unzip the first file and the rest will continue creating one file.</p>

It converts to avi's using the xvid codec (arguably the best video codec)
I've never heard of a .dvd file though, so i'm not sure if it will work. If you want to rip a DVD to your computer, there's a guide on <a href="http://www.doom9.org/%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://www.doom9.org/&lt;/a> that is really helpful.</p>
