Alright, so like most high schools, my school has a little award ceremony at the end of the year and recognizes everybody with a 3.0 or higher, a 3.5 or higher, and 3.8 and so on. There's no name for this award or anything, just a little certificate we get. Is there any way I can use this as an award on my apps? Should I just call it an academic achievement award or something? And the same thing with my academic Varsity letter thing. I have no idea if I can use these or what to call them. Thanks

I don’t know if you can put the academic achievement award on your app, or if you would even want to. It seems to me like you could write whatever you wanted on the app, but if you have a 3.8 GPA you don’t need an award from your school to let an adcom know about your academic achievements, they can clearly see your GPA from your transcript. If you do choose to put it, I recommend naming it something like, “Recognition for academic excellence,” or something that makes it sound special. I don’t think it is necessary to list it as an award, especially if you have other, better, and more impressive awards, but if you choose to list it that is my suggestion for the name.

Thanks, maybe I just won’t put it
