<p>We've all heard about Intel, Westinghouse and whatever else, but are there any similarly prestigious awards in the humanities? Surely top schools can't admit ONLY math/science prodigies...but the humanities-oriented students don't seem to have the same measures of excellence.</p>

<p>I don't know of any such awards, though there are of course lots of well-known essay contests. But this is probably due to the fact that demonstrating excellence in a concrete discipline is much easier than doing so in one that's subjectively assessed.</p>
