I have a whole host of awards, some being Certificates of Achievement in Math contests.

However, these awards are all unverifiable (from the viewpoint of an adcom). Should I scan copies of the certificates and send them in, or would that be pointless, because of the prevalence of professional forgers nowadays?

If the awards are unverifiable, are they going to be completely disregarded?

You don’t need to; it is based on an honors system after all. If it were something really big enough to make a difference though, it can be easily verified anyway, whereas something like this perhaps won’t make a significant impact.

Don’t underestimate those who read applications as their main job. These adcoms generally know all about awards, even those regional ones. But send them a copy? NO! they sure don’t need ‘proof’.

No, they won’t be disregarded. They will be considered. Good luck, and please don’t limit your applications to Ivy League (or similar low acceptance) schools.
