I'm an econ major looking for a dorm with that has a good social scene, but not so crazy that i wont get work done. Is ACCI right for me? If not, what dorms do you guys recommend?

Don't come to CCI if you want a "good social scene." CCI, although has a business theme does little to differentiate itself from other dorms (in respect to business, econ opportunities). I highly recommend Allison or Willard. From what I've observed, they strike the balance most perfectly.

thanks,
i heard CCI was close to the fraternity houses...does that help the social scene at all?

Kimfuge,
do you live in CCI?

CCI is the dorm for people who want to be near "Tech" which is the building where all the math and science classes are, while still being insulated from the frat scene.
The stereotype is that it is all Chinese and Indian, which while not true, is reaffirmed by some of the large cliques that I see going to and from its doors (I do not live there)

CCI, though it may not plan a load of business-related events, does have a large amount of economics and engineering majors who live there. If you're interested in business, you'll find many others who have that same interest living in the building, and you'll be able to study together because a lot of your classes will be similar to other residents'. I live there now and know many of the exec board personally, and can say that they are trying to increase the social and business-related events that the dorm does. If you define a "good social scene" as a dorm with a lot of drinking and parties, then CCI isn't best for you, but you can always head to the frats which are steps away if you're into that. If you aren't, people here are pretty nice and contrary to what many think, many of us are not anti-social; we just prefer to have fun in other ways. My floor and our friends play basketball at least a couple times a week and we watch movies/eat together/fool around in the halls together. It can get pretty loud at times, but you'll be able to get your studying done when you have to.
