B.A/MD at stony brook chances and at brooklyn college?

Hey I wanted to know what you think my chances are at stony brooks ba/md program along with that of brooklyn college’s. I I attend prestigious high school in NYC, ranked as the 13th best in the nation. My overall weighted average is a 101.14, I hope on boosting that to a 102 by the end of the school year. I am taking 5 ap classes and plan on taking four next year. I will be taking the SAT in may, aiming for a 2100 at the least. I am president of two clubs, sing director, have played a sport for two years, volunteer at the hospital and a bunch of other things. Im also applying to a medical internship this summer. Would love to hear some input on what I should do to approve. Thank you!!!

Thanks for the post. Here’s the deal with our BS/MD program (Scholars for Medicine). It’s a third step in our admissions process: you’re considered for admission to the University first, then to either the Honors College or the WISE program, and then referred over to the med school for consideration.

You REALLY need to show the admissions committee something, because most of the applicants have very high GPAs and very strong test scores. They look at research, volunteering, community service, your recommendation letters, essay, all that. It’s much more than just an academic equation.

It’s a pretty high hurdle to jump through, and the med school offers less than ten spots each year, out of a huge applicant pool. So there’s no drawback to applying, necessarily, but know that we have a LOT more students going to med school outside the combined program than we do from within the program.
