In the 10th grade I had a really tough English teacher and finished the year with a B. In fact, he was so tough that when I took AP English Language in 11th grade, I got an A- and a 5 on the exam. Now I am a senior in AP English Literature, will that B affect my chances for admission?
it will affect your chances, but probably not alot. If you get an A in the first semester of english lit, I wouldnt worry. I’m on the same boat, except first semester sophomore year I got a B and second semester i got an A. we dont have +/- at my school though. pretty sure mcgill will care more about your junior/senior AP grades rather than your sophomore year regular/honors class.
They slightly changed the standards. Now they require “Strong grades in all Grade 10, 11, and 12 English courses”
I wouldn’t sweat it- if you’ve gotten A’s in grade 11 and 12, you should be fine.
