B-school, general advice for non-finance people?

I'm a senior at Columbia planning on going to the book publishing industry, and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in terms of online articles, information or similar threads.

I am planning on working in the industry for a couple of years before possibly applying to business school. My undergrad experience was rich but certainly not exemplary (3.8 GPA in anthropology). I'm guessing I should take the GREs instead of the GMATs this summer, since the last time I did anything computational I wanted to roast the compsci exam on a spit. I'll hazard a guess now to say my work experience will be the biggest asset in my application, but please correct me if I'm mistaken.

The reason I'm thinking about business school is that I eventually want become a publisher and run my own imprint or indie press. I've got a feel for marketing, but the only econ I've taken was econ 101 the first semester of college. It will be very important that the b-school be in NYC IF I wanted to get my MBA part time, so am I limited to Columbia and NYU? And if I am, should I aim for my undergrad alma mater or try for a better-located and different-alumni-network NYU? (I'd probably just apply to both, but I'm wondering which would be more advantageous.)

I'm sort of wondering where I stand in all this. I thought I'd ask here first, since I know it's still a while away :)
