BA in Art ---> MArch a good idea?

Has anyone done a Bachelors in Arts (fine arts or whatever) and then went to get their master in Architecture from a certified university? For any architecture graduates or close to graduating would this be a good choice?

Plus How does a MArch differ in BArch? Would I get a better understanding of Architecture in Undergraduate or will I still get the same understanding as Master in Architecture graduate?

Appreciate any view… I love Art… but I love Math/science as well…would love to really find ways of combining them. But would love to get a good solid foundation of Art understanding.

The architecture curriculum is much the same for a BArch and MArch. The major difference is that for the BArch the parent university often has requirements outside of architecture, whereas the MArch is more intensely focused. The MArch class is made of students of various ages and work experience, whereas most BArch students are recent high school graduates. Financial aid is more readily available for the BArch, both need based aid and merit aid. Funding for the MArch varies widely by school. Grants may be available, but they are difficult to predict.

A BA or BFA in art studio would give you a good foundation for an MArch program, AS LONG AS you fulfill the program’s admission requirements. They vary by school, but in general you need some art studio, some art history, some physics and some calculus.

@momrath Thank you very much for your response. I will check out the art schools and see if they can meet my needs. I’m near my mid 20’s so…I have colleges experience and I have an associate.
