BA MD Interviews

so i have an interview coming up and i was wondering how i should answer these questions. i have a general idea but more insight would definitely help. feel free to answer any.

why should i pick you over the girl that i interviewed before you, or the applicant i'm interviewing after you? What will you give back to the program that they can't?"

what will your peers find surprising about you that they dont already know

'why not another medical profession like a nurse'

whats the most difficult adversity you ever faced?

1) Talk about something that is unique to yourself. Like an out-there interest that is rare. Basically, the interviewer needs to choose out of all the people with stellar stats, so anything you count as a highly unique achievement (and no, NHS doesn't count) can be played on as something you would like to give back to the college.

2) Same thing, something that you either talked about in your essays (if they were open-ended) or didn't get a chance to talk about in your essays (if they were specific topics). Something like playing a unique instrument (I'd guess piano/violin are pretty standard, sorry all pianists and violinists out there), or playing a unique varsity sport (I know a LOT of people play tennis who are academically gifted, so that may not be unique), and even sports you don't play varsity for, but just have a general interest in (like backyard/flag/touch football or ultimate frisbee or something)

3) My answer is that I've learned about a lot of the other medical professions, and they all have conditions placed on them, so that even if I (as a medical provider) want to provide the best care, I can't because of a restriction on my power. A doctor doesn't have those restrictions, so it's the best option.

4) This one is really something you have answer uniquely. Just make sure you state how overcoming the adversity made you a better person/made you learn something/how it just generally improved you as a whole, etc.

EDIT: As a whole, you have to answer these questions by what you think. We can only give you a general idea, the insight and details must come from within yourself.

when u say something that can be given back to the college.. u mean like something u have/have done that u can give like money back?

I think they mean in terms of pride, not financial donations.

oo i c

what would u respond? any type of interest u have?
