Possible Drawbacks:

A lot of people, after graduate school (which you still go to with the BA/MD program), find out that they are more interested in pursuing other careers. Going to graduate school first lets you know more about majors, and help make a wiser decision. Straight to BA/MD a lot of times means regret.

MOST, but not all of schools that offer BA/MD programs are okay schools. This means that after one graduates, he/she will find it harder to get a job…

Also many people find BA/MD programs too rigorous, especially the 6 and 7 year programs, because they have to teach you everything others learn in 8 years.

Not true in the least. No licensed MD, especially a US-trained one, will have any problem whatsoever finding a job.

I’m not saying there will necessarily be a problem of finding a job. BUT, if you were competing with students from top-tier medical schools (which most of the times don’t offer BA/MD programs), you would find yourself at a severe disadvantage…

BA/MD programs don’t give you the reputation and shine that a top-tier medical school gives you, therefore it would be HARDER to find that perfect job you want, especially if there’s competition.
