***BA/MD Students at GWU*** Please Read!!!

I am planning to apply for the ba/md program for a couple of universities that I hear have excellent programs. GWU is one of the schools that is on my list. However I have some concerns about this program...

Do you get separate scholarship if you apply for ba/md and get accepted?

What did you have to pay with the grade you had?

Is it suppose to be easier to find residency if you're in the program?

Any accommodations?

Do all ba/md programs have interviews?

If you are an out state student, how were your first couple of years?
and lastly...

Were you confident when you were applying for ba/md? What were some thoughts going through your head? Did you have people tell you 'Do you really want to be in the medical field?' 'You're too young to be thinking...' or 'You might change your mind later, you know'?

It is VERY difficult to be admitted to the BA/MD program- acceptance rate is <5%.

However, GW also has an “early acceptance” program for med school. You apply at the end of your sophomore year, and if selected, you’re already accepted into the program AND you have a lot more leniency in the classes you choose (they encourage you to broaden you scope outside the typical pre-med rigor).

My roommate sophomore year was accepted to the program so I heard all about it. He had no life the first two years of school, but junior and senior year were much more enjoyable for him as he didn’t have to stress getting into med school anymore. Also, I’m not sure of the acceptance rate but it’s another shot at early med school acceptance!
