I am a rising senior and I am very interested in coming to Babson, yet I feel I may not be able to because of my stats.
I will be applying ED:
my school weighs GPA weirdly so instead ill tell you my grade i have a 96-97 Weighted grade junior year, a 92-93 weighted sophomore, and a horrendous 83-84 weighted freshman year…i know i screwed up my freshman year I was really stupid…but i improved tremendously over the years and shouldnt that completely void my freshman year grades
Also, i have taken the SAT and received a 1950, but I am taking it again and most likely getting anywhere from 2050-2100. Oh yeah, because I am applying ED and I wont have time to send in my scores before deadline can I send it later or use Collegeboard’s fast delivery option
I have had a internship not in the business field, done a decent amount of community service, and played at Carnegie my freshman year. I have also been apart of different clubs such as FBLA and JSA and I have made my own entrepreneurship club and i am the president.
Will I get in? Thanks for your time.
Please any comment will be helpful.
Im not entirely sure on your chances at babson, but i can tell you about my experiences when i applied. Firstly, I applied as a transfer which depending on how you look at is is either harder or easier to get in depending on the school you came from. Im hispanic from a average to above average public high school. I mention race because it does matter whether we choose to believe it or not. SATS were 1950 same as you.740 math, 610 cr, 600 writing.
In highschool i didn’t really try i graduated with a 3.4 gpa and in the top 8% of my class. In college I also didnt particularly try too hard and got a 3.78 at the end of my sophomore year. Mind you i went to a school that was super cheap because they gave me scholarships. From there I applied to babson and with my stats i got in and received quite a lot of financial aid. I would only need to take out between 2,000- 3,000 in loans. However, I chose to go to Bentley instead because i thought Babson was too small and i wanted to study finance. The choice is yours and hopefully this has been somewhat helpful. Below i listed all the schools i got in with my stats. hopefully this gives you a better idea of where you stand.
Bentley, Babson, Boston U, Boston College, Northeastern (Waitlisted), Rutgers, and I missed the cutoff for UNC by a day. I think UNC Chapel Hill was a reach school for me. Again good luck.
thanks a lot!!! the only thing is that you graduated from the top 8% of your class with a 3.4 while im probably only in top 25-30% , yet my school was rather difficult and it is quite known not super prestigious though
