Babson vs Bentley

Hi I am trying to decide which school is better for me, i am an international student and am going to enroll in fall 2014. I am 100% sure i want to study business but have not yet decided on a concentration. which school has a better international reputation? I heard Babson has no social life is this true?

Babson has a great social life. There are many options and different ways to get involved on campus. There are about 100 clubs and organizations on campus, ranging from sports clubs to cultural clubs to business clubs. There is also a Campus Activities Board (CAB) that puts on events on campus including dance parties in Knight Auditorium and Spring Concert (this year is Krewella, last year was Steve Aoiki). There is always something to do at Babson! Although we work hard, we also spend time with our friends and socializing.

If you are really looking for an international reputation go for Babson for sure. In my experience Babson is actually much more well known outside of the US, in all the major international schools and private high schools abroad. I am a current Junior at Babson at a third of my class is international students, it really does make things different. While there is always going to be that social grouping that occurs on any campus, the international students here really do branch out and I have close friends that cover every continent. The business aspect is no doubt the entire focus of the school so it is perfect or someone who knows for sure that that will be their career path, as well as the school has strong career placement. If you graduate within the top 10% of your class there is no doubt that you can get a very high paying and successful entry level job. The average starting salary is over $50k and with a 99% placement rate.

As for the social life, there is no doubt that geography plays a factor. Babson is located in a very expensive suburb of Boston and so you are not going to get the same city environment you may get at BU or elsewhere. People complain about it a lot here but the fact is it is all a matter of what you make of it. If you decide to sit in your room and not go out to any events or meet people outside of the classroom, you aren’t going to have a great time. The parties and events do not come to you, but they are there and available. In the end, if Babson doesn’t have the crazy social scene you are looking for then there is always Boston or a dozen other college campuses very close by that you can go to fairly easily. This is just one of those areas the students like to complain about but don’t actually do anything about fixing it.
