I am interested in marketing. I will have my associates in General Studies in a week or so. I can attend Old Dominion University which offers a Bachelors in Marketing BUT I have to remote in to their classes which means I will never actually meet my teachers and I have to drive an hour away from home to remote into these classes at a local community college. OR I can attend University of Virginia at Wise which it 5 minutes from my house but they only offer a Bachelors in Business Administration. They say I can concentrate in Marketing and in the real world they are basically the same thing.. I do not know what to do.. I have spoke with several advisers and most of them say it doesn't matter since it is just my bachelors.. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

I would go with the UVA at Wise. The actual interaction with your professor and fellow students provides a much better educational environment and experience IMO. Plus, you can be assigned/involved with group projects and presentations that are common to business majors.

A marketing major is basically the same as a business major with a marketing concentration.

Are either or both AACSB accredited? If both are, it doesn’t matter which you choose. If one is and the other isn’t, choose the one that is. If neither is, I still stand by my first suggestion. Go with UVA-Wise.

I ditto UVA-Wise, but regardless of AACSB status. I do not believe AACSB accreditation (nor most disciplinary accreditations) offers one lick of value at the undergraduate level.

I was just worried that a bachelors in business admin would hurt me in the long run since it isn’t a bachelors in marketing… Everyone I talk to gives me different advice… shew shew Thanks guys! I signed up for classes at UVA!
