Bachelors of Engineering or Bachelors of Science

I am asking this for a friend(I am working a BSCS).

She want to get a Electrical Engineering degree.

Right now she can go to the University of Kentucky and get a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.

or she can go to Vanderbilt and get a Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical Engineering.

Is getting a Bachelors of Engineering better then a Bachelors of Science? I have not seen many school that have a Bachelors of Engineering. But I know that Vanderbilt is a great college.

As far as I’ve read, they are the same thing.

There is no consistency, and therefore no assumptions regarding the degree. Some schools may differentiate between the two, but only they will really know or care about the distinction.

The only time there is an issue is when the same school offers both degrees. When that’s the case, you need to look into the difference between the two degree.

When a school only offers one, there’s no difference.
