coming back from sea to a nice swift kick in the jaw... priceless

Holy Hand-Grenades, Batman! What a load!

Stiff upper lip chap! :) It will get better.

Like I told my 2010 kid who just returned from sea:

"Hit 'em hard"

thanks everyone
prouddad, your daughter and i are in similar situations thus she knows and i'm sure has vented her frustrations already, it's great huh? but such is life. :)

uh... I don't see the course Don't Forget to Breathe 201 with Prof. Poke Wakeup. :D Best of luck is2day! Don't sweat.

FYI, I got to spend 2 great weeks with Is2Day after he left his ship. I've heard horror stories about folks waiting until the last minute to try to knock out the sea project. We decided that he would come to work with me, where I gave him a cubicle and all the amenities and he worked his butt off every day! At the end of that time he had a beautiful project ready to be turned in and several days left over for some relaxation.

Keep breathing son - you've got the right stuff and a bunch of folks pulling for you :)

Sorry. Breathing and Sweating are extracurriculars, and don't fit into that schedule... He'll have to work each one in ,,,, on ALTERNATING weekends.
Taking them alphabetically... BREATHING will be THIS weekend. SWEATING will be NEXT weekend.

PS. I know others have this type of schedule to ("welcome back from Sea!").
Good golly (for ALL of them). Yikes.

JRH!! You know the Jamz!?? Oh my gosh! I didn't know he had told ya how he was in dead full run to turn it in exactly 3 minutes before it was due. All the while stapling pages together which I heard was a huge no-no. Running across campus mind you. With a stapler in hand. I don't get it. Procrastination? Uh...yeah... I'm thinking.

Oh JamzMom... that would win $10,000 on America's Funniest Home Video!

Dear God, PLEASE don't teach me a lesson by having my son re-enact this scenario! Please Please please Please !!!

is2day and JRH

My kid got that Sea Project nearly complete (99%) onboard.
Luckly, she too had a week at home.

It looked GREAT to me.

Her seatime went really really well.

Now shes decided to Manage / Operate Shipyards !
If theres one thing I taught her,
it must have been to THINK BIG.

so dorkboy (aka is2day4him) calls me, his dad, today. I'm in a meeting, but I see his number on the phone, so I excuse myself. He's very depressed sounding, and tells me that the sea project grades came out today...and that he failed and would be sent home. I couldn't believe it, since I know how hard he worked on it, but I got a lump in my throat.

He was so believable, all sad and a little choked up...then he mentions that it's just his little April Fools joke. Can you believe the nerve of some kids??

Just to get him back, I drained his bank account of all his "sea money" and bought new tires for my truck...that'll show him.
:)

i'm so awesome that it sometimes hurts.

You are so adorksome that it hurts sometimes! :D

Da Noieve ! -- C. Lion (Wizard of Oz)

Goodness. I hope my kid doesn't read this do something similar. :8
