back from the dead

HEY guys, i'm back for one reason - one of my best friends applied to Dartmouth, but he's not sure he'd fit in there because he doesn't drink. What do y'all do when you're not in sweaty frat basements? lol

they are running over to the President's front yard to Hurl.......the Dartmouth Tradition. Hey, on a serious note, kids who don't drink will find their own social group at any school including Dartmouth.

well i know that's true of Tufts, but that's because we have Boston nearby and I just go there while everyone's at the frats. I know he'll find people that don't drink, but what will they DO? Sit in the dorms and watch DVD's?

Well if he cannot find stuff to do now.........problem. If he is finding stuff to do now, NO problem. Nite skiing.....just kidding.

Hey blu,

There is plenty to do on campus for the non drinker. Very few people spend their 4 years drinking and the novelty usually ends up wearing off before freshman year is over. It is not to say that upperclassmen don't drink, but probably not as much as people think

Welcome back! My son is an 09 and does not drink yet is enjoying a full range of activities at Dartmouth. His social life even includes frat events where "water pong" is available for those not drinking. There is not a lot of peer pressure, his circle of frined include both those that do, and those that don't.

Easy does It!

haha thanks so much for your replies. Yes, he does still have a social life without drinking, which is odd, b/c he's a football captain lol. Water pong! That's so awesome. I'll definitely assuage his doubts :-D
