Bad Ap Grade = Bad Chances?

Hey guys quick question!!
Does a 3 on an ap test your majoring in drastically affect your chances at a college? All my other ap scores are 5's and 4's but in the subject I am majoring in I got a 3... Also if it does affect my chances will a good sat II chem score (say 750+) balance it out?

You don’t have to list your AP test grades if you don’t want to. A 3 is not particularly bad. It probably won’t get you credit in college, but it shows you have some amount of knowledge of the subject. 1s and 2s are bad. AP scores generally aren’t counted much in the college app process.

A 3 on an AP test is supposed to be about equal to a C in college. To earn a C on college level work as a high school student is still an achievement. No college can expect every high school student to score high on every AP test. The idea of AP is to start to learn how to do college level work - not to have already perfected every subject.
